Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal is renowned for providing free traditional Patanjali Yog teachings to the public. The yogic system propounded by Patanjali Muni is deeply rooted in devotion to the divine, which is why significant religious occasions are celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Mandal.
On February 26th, the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri was observed with devotion at the Mandalβs main center in Ramnagar. The day began with the regular Yog Varg from 6:00 to 6:30 AM, followed by the ceremonial installation of the sacred Padukas of Param Pujya Janardan Swamiji and a beautifully crafted Shivling near his Samadhi. Under the priestly guidance of Shri Dani Guruji, Shri Atul Mujumdar performed the Puja and Rudrabhishek.
After this, the collective recitation of the Shiva Sahasranama (1,000 names of Lord Shiva) took place. In a unique ritual, each devotee offered a Bel leaf upon the Shivling and Padukas with every name chanted. Separate queues were arranged for men and women, and by the end of the recitation, a total of 3,024 Bel leaves had adorned the sacred Padukas and Shivling.
The event concluded with Aarti and the distribution of Teerth (sacred water).
Jai Janardan! π
