Continuing with the celebrations of the Shatakottar Rajat Jayanti (125th Birth Anniversary) of Shri Janardanswami ji, and after hosting a very successful Akhil Bhartiya Yog Sammelan we are starting a brand new initiative – Late Bhanutai Gadkari Memorial Inter-School Yogasan Competition.
We have successfully organised Shaleya Yogasan Spardha since 1992 and earlier in 2013 over 10,000 students participated in it. Now we are aiming to cross the figure of 25,000 students participating in January 2018. The event will be held at Yeshwant Stadium and object is to spread the power of Yog to all students early in their lives. If students pickup yog while they’re in school, apart from physical health, it will help them in developing dhairya (courage), sayyam (control), ekagrata (concentration) over and above several other benefits of internalising the practice of yog. The unique benefits of practising yog is that in addition to physical development, it develops the health of the mind as well as the soul.
The structure of the Shaleya Yogasan Spardha is such that every school has to participate with at least one group of 200 students, although they can enter with more than one group as well. We’ve created a sequence of Sanghik (Group) Yogasan and have been training thousands of students to perform this sequence in their schools all over Nagpur. We’re thankful to all the schools, their teachers and their management, for allowing our trainers to conduct training sessions for their students. A glimpse of the scale of the training programs can be obtained from the photos below of sessions underway in various schools.
