Janardanswami Yogabhyasi Mandal Hosts Inspiring Yog Sangam

As per directives from Morarji Desai National Institute of Yog and the Ministry of AYUSH, and as a part of the early preparations for International Yog Day, Janardanswami Yogabhyasi Mandal, organized a unique and vibrant Yog confluence on 7th June during 7 to 9 am at the Atrey Layout grounds in South-West Nagpur.

Held two weeks ahead of the global event of International Yog Day, the event brought together around 1000 Yog practitioners and enthusiasts, reflecting the growing cultural and spiritual significance of Yog. The confluence, aptly named Yog Sangam, was graced by Dr. Sharad Nimbalkar, renowned agricultural expert and former Vice-Chancellor of Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, who attended as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Yog Guru Shri Rambhau Khandwe, President of the Janardanswami Yogabhyasi Mandal. Respective presidents of Hanuman temple and Jagadamba temple at Atrey Lay Out, Mr. Avinash Indurkar and Mr. Dinkar Joshi were also present on the dais.

The event commenced with Ishwar Pranidhan, a solemn invocation to the divine, followed by a floral tribute to the image of revered Shri Janardanswami, paying homage to the guiding spirit behind the Mandal’s philosophy. A warm welcome was accorded to the chief guest. Shri Milind Wazalwar, secretary of the Mandal, set the tone with an insightful opening address requesting all to participate in the International Yog day on 21st June and also the platinum jubilee celebrations of Yogabhyasi Mandal throughout the year.

The highlight of the morning was visually striking yogic formations by school children, capturing the spirit of harmony, strength, and focus that yoga embodies. It also showcased a mesmerizing performance by nearly 1,000 yoga practitioners, who demonstrated a disciplined Yog sequence in synchrony following instructions by Mr. Sanjay Mudgal. This event also marked the official launch of Nagpur’s preparations for International Yog Day 2025.

In his address, Dr. Nimbalkar emphasized the holistic benefits of yog, stating, “Yog nurtures not only the body and mind but also opens the path to spiritual enlightenment and social wellbeing.”

Presiding over the event, Yog Guru Shri Rambhau Khandwe highlighted the significance of this year’s celebration, saying, “As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of International Yog Day, it is essential that we all commit ourselves to regular yogasana practice and spread the message of Shri Janardanswami far and wide. Also instructive is the fact that Pa. Pu. Janardanswamiji himself has mooted the idea of Yog day almost 40 years back in Nagpur.”

During the program, Mr. Atharva Dake rendered a soulful rendition on Yog practice. The event was compered by Sulabha Kulkarni and concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sushma Deshpande, followed by a collective rendering of the Yog Geet (Yog Anthem) that brought the energetic morning to an inspiring conclusion.
