Welcome to the Indian traditional birthday celebration at Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal, something we’ve been practising for years together. The method aligns well with the Indian traditions and cultural practices involving all naturally positive steps. For example, the birth is an epitome of human progress and is celebrated by lighting a traditional diya (lamp), senior women doing aukshawan (blessing ritual), distributing the sweets to everyone and singing hymns of Sudinam Sudinam… (traditional Sanskrit Birthday song), etc.
As we always have a substantial number of young kids frequenting our Yoga classes, they benefit by learning these authentic Indian traditions and are told the significance of each little aspect of the entire ritual. Not only are these methods based entirely on science and human well-being, they are time tested and effective overall on our body as well as our minds.
