Today was a very auspicious day, as we at Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal, Nagpur had the privilege of Param Pujaniya Shri Govind Dev Giri Maharaj visiting us this morning. He was on a quick visit, however, he took time to visit each and every class (varga) that was underway at our ashram. He visited both the Pariksha Classes (Asan Pravesh Pariksha & Asan Praveen Pariksha) with Sarav Varga, Yog Jeevan Shailee Shibir, immediately after he took the samadhi darshan of Shri Janardan Swamiji. He was accompanied and informed about the various different classes, the progress our mandal has made & what we’re doing to improve it further, by our Khandwe Guruji.
Param Pujaniya Shri Govind Dev Giri Maharaj later addressed all the Yog Sadhakas wherein he first wished, felicitated & applauded our Guruji’s 75th birthday celebrations. He then appreciated the mandal’s efforts to celebrate the first ever International Yoga Day on 21st June 2015 by Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal and added that he was happy that our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was successful in getting such an international recognition for Yoga from the countries across the world in the United Nations. Param Pujaniya Shri Govind Dev Giri Maharaj also enlightened the yog sadhakas about the fact that acceptance of an international Yoga Day was the acceptance of bhagavad-gītā in a sense that it’s ony the bhagavad-gītā which covers Yoga in the wholesome sense over and above what the Patanjali Yog & Hata Pradeepika, etc. schools of thought cover. He mentioned that this wasn’t a topic that can be covered very quickly but he’s indicating that the acceptance of bhagavad-gītā and its teachings shall surely increase by way of the global community deciding to identify, formalize and celebrate the International Yoga Day.
